Area Specialty Weekend Wins!

New Titles & Wins!
2021 was a light year for shows, but despite that Elena picked up several Best of Opposite wins and a Select on a specialty weekend in a nice ring of top dogs. Not bad for our 9-year old veteran girl. And if that wasn't enough, she also earned her Bronze Grand Championship and was honored by earning a spot the AMCA's Top 20 Alaskan Malamutes.
Eve got out to a few shows and won her first Best of Opposite this spring.
Abby, Elena and Eve were also awarded their Working Team Dog Advanced titles this year. At 9 years old, Elena earned her Lead Dog Advanced title and Abby did, as well. Looking forward to more back country adventures this fall!

Breed & Group Wins!
Elena (GCh. Obsidian's Dark Magic, WTD, WLD, WPD) did us proud at the Grand Junction show last weekend. She won Best of Breed two days and went on to win an OH G1 and an OH G4. We are so proud of how well she is doing her first season out as a special at 7 years old and grateful to judges who have found our amazing lead dog in groups of lovely dogs.

We are thrilled to announce that Eve (Obsidian's Wild Magic, WTD) earned her championship this last weekend. She had a very good weekend winning WB all four days and BW three days. She finishes with four majors! A huge thank you to the judges! That same weekend her mother Elena (GCh. Obsidian's Dark Magic, WTD, WLD, WPD) picked up a couple BOS wins and an OH Group 1! Way to go girls!

Like the speedy lead dog she is, she made quick work of that title finishing in a just a few weekends! On the very same day, her mother Elena (GCh Obsidian's Dark Magic, WTD, WLD, WPD) finished her grand championship with a nice breed win.

The girls had a great weekend out at the Rocky Mountain Area Alaskan Malamute Specialty. Hermione (GChS Vykon's Aluk Busy Bein' Fabulous, TT, WTD, WPD) started off the weekend with a Best in Veteran Sweeps win. Her granddaughter Abby (Obsidian's Dark Fantasy) followed in her paw prints winning Best of Winners at both specialties. Her sister Eve (Obsidian's Wild Magic) went Best of Winners and Winner's Bitch for two majors in the following days and their mother Elena (Ch. Obsidian's Dark Magic, WTD, WLD, WPD) finished out the weekend with a Best of Opposite win in a nice ring of dogs. Fabulous weekend for the girls and our sincere appreciation to the judges who awarded our working dogs!

Introducing our new SILVER Grand Champion!
We are very excited to announce that our Hermione earned her Silver Grand Champion title this weekend, making her Vykon's first Silver Grand Champion. She also picked up a breed win over some very nice specials and an Owner Handle Group 4 at nearly 10 years of age! Her granddaughter Abby (Obsidian's Dark Fantasy) also won reserve to a major at her first set of shows that weekend.

After taking the summer off, Hermione (GChB Vykon's Aluk Busy Bein' Fabulous, TT, WTD, WPD) returned to the ring to debut in the veteran class and showed she hasn't lost a step! She took several BOS wins and an OH Group 1! Her granddaughters Abby (Obsidian's Dark Fantasy) and Eve (Obsidian's Wild Magic) debuted in the puppy competition, Abby winning a group 1 and Eve winning a group 2. Great weekend out for the family!

We are very pleased to announce that Jada (Obsidian's Black Canary WTD, WPD) finished her championship under Mr. Trotter this weekend! She finished with three majors (one a specialty BOS from the classes) from the bred-by class.

2016 AMCA Regional & National Specialty!
The girls had a great week at our club's specialty week.
Elena (Ch. Obsidian's Dark Magic, WTD, WLD, WPD) won 1st place in the Working Bitch Class at both the regional and national shows.
Our "baby" Jada (Obsidian's Black Canary, WTD, WPD) went big by winning 4th place in the Working Dog Showcase. We are very honored to win these placements and are grateful to the judges for recognizing our two best team members!

Big wins to close out the summer season!
The girls had a fantastic weekend at the Bonneville Basin Kennel Club. Jada (Obsidian's Black Canary, WTD) went Best of Winners two days in a row putting her a few points shy of earning her championship!
Her mother Hermione (GChB Vykon's Aluk Busy Bein' Fabulous TT, WTD, WPD) not only went Best of Breed those days but went on to win OH Reserve BIS and a Group IV placement!

The girls started off the summer with some nice wins in Blackfoot. Hermione (GChB, RBIS UKC Ch, Int Ch Vykon's Aluk Busy Bein' Fabulous, TT, WTD, WPD) finished her Bronze Grand Championship with a Best of Breed win!
That same day Jada (Obsidian's Black Canary, WTD) went Best of Winners and brought home her second major.

Specialty Wins!
The girls had a great time at the Rocky Mountain Area Specialty this May. Hermione (GCh., Int., RBIS UKC Ch. Vykon's Aluk Busy Bein' Fabulous TT, WTD, WPD) was awarded Best of Opposite Sex for the second year in a row. That afternoon, her daughter Jada (Obsidian's Black Canary WTD) not only won Winner's Bitch for her first 5-point major but also Best of Opposite Sex at just two years of age. Thank you to the judges who thought highly of our girls.
